How do I get a Gmail invite from this blog?

`*~Update: Go here to post requests for invites.~*`

If your name is located in the Candidates List in the side bar of this blog, then you are well on your way to receiving an invite. Many people have already received invites from this blog and the invites just keep on rolling in. Have patience and check your junk mail folders!

If your name is not on the Candidates List, then add a comment here requesting an invite. I shall direct those with invites to this post, so you'll be sure to get noticed! Tell us a little something about yourself, if you'd like or just say "gimme an invite!" Regardless, please do remember to provide both a name (either your real name or your handle) and the e-mail address to which you'd like the invite sent. Note: If you have either Yahoo or Hotmail, make sure to check your junk folders for your invite.

Please delete your comment once you have received an invite so that the next in line can get his/hers.

*If your name is in the candidates list and you have received an invite, post here and I'll update the list.

I just received an invite for Gmail from this blog, how do I get my name off the Candidates List?

If your name is on the Candidates List and you have received an invite, please post a comment here to let me know so I can remove your name. Please be sure to note the name used to help me identify who you are.

(I've had a few comments that just say, "Thanks, I got an invite! You can remove me." from "Anonymous," which really doesn't help, as there are a lot of "me's" out there in the cyberworld. Or "Remove me" from "Tom" but Tom's handle is like "Bigfoot2001" or something and I have no clue... Y'know? Thanks.)

I have extra invites, who should I invite from this blog?

First off, thanks so much for paying your extra invites forward!

Ok, so here's what to do:

1. Check the Candidates List to the right in the side bar. Choose on a name that has no orange "Invite sent" type comment or strikethrough. Log into your Gmail account, click on the "Invite, etc." link at the top (see example here), type in the name and e-mail address of the invitee and send away!

OR

2. Go here and read the comments. Choose someone to send an invite to and follow the same instructions above (re: Log into Gmail, et al.)

Once you have sent an invite, please post a comment here alerting all of us to the fact that either one of the candidates or one of the commenters has received an invite so that there are no duplicates. Please be sure to note both the name and e-mail addy provided. Note: You are more than welcome to comment as Anonymous to protect your identity and/or privacy.

Update

Howdy,

I've quite a few requests for invites in my inbox, which I haven't had time to add to the list. I'm thinking I may just add them to a new post...[Edit: I added them to the candidate list.]

Anyhoo, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still working on it. I just found a new invite contributor who will shortly begin handing them out.

Sorry for being slow on the uptake here, but work's been crazy!!! (I'm sure y'all understand.) :)

Cheers!
-M

(note to self: need explanation post at top, post for those in need of invites, those giving out invites, and those who are listed as candidates who no longer need to be listed...)
